For a camera equipped CO2 laser this is now just excess weight on the laser head that can be lost. I have left the wiring in the main compartment.
The last modification to this machine will be some decent adjustable tube holders. But I may not do that for some time as the tube and mirrors are perfectly aligned at the moment.
